This first issue of the year 2025 of the Journal Política Internacional, corresponding to the January-March quarter, brings together 24 papers dedicated to exploring key issues in international relations. This edition addresses geopolitical, diplomatic and economic issues of global relevance, including, among other topics, the analysis of the race for resources in Malvinas, the South Atlantic and Antarctica, as well as the negotiations between the European Union and Mercosur, the image of China in the Latin American media and the challenges of regional integration in Latin America. In addition, it delves into Cuban foreign policy from a historical perspective to its impact on the Non-Aligned Movement, the academic collaboration between Cuba and the United States and a study on the foreign policy of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes. On the other side, topics such as the ethical governance of artificial intelligence, nuclear disarmament during the Cold War, the impact of the Financial Action Task Force, the negotiation of sovereign debt, Olympic sport and US hegemony, contributions of key international civil aviation conventions, and the strategic relations of the Pacific Alliance with China and the United States are examined. Also included is an examination of the geopolitics of renewable energy between Chile and the European Union, and a reflection on the inaction of the UN Security Council in 1992. This volume is intended to be a valuable resource for academics and professionals interested in international affairs. We thank all contributors for their valuable contributions.
