Volume VI, No. 4 of 2024 of the journal Política Internacional presents a series of relevant topics in the field of Political Science and international relations. This issue also has special significance for its section “Cuban Diplomacy”, dedicated to the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, exploring topics such as the cardinal value of internationalism in Cuban foreign policy, the boycott of medical agreements in Latin America and the Caribbean, the myth of Cuba's involvement in social protests in the region, the management of Cuba's consular assistance to its nationals abroad, Cuba's positions in the UN in relation to the struggles for national liberation and the independence of African countries. In addition, a period of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Spain is analyzed, as well as the influence of the United States on Cuban culture. The section “The world we live in” addresses, among other topics, the relations between Vietnam and the United States, China's position in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, imperialism and militarization of the State, Paraguay's foreign policy and polarization in Latin America. In “International Relations”, the role of the Southern Command in our continent and the relations between the United States, India and China and Japan are discussed, as well as the economic relations between Angola and Japan in its contribution to Economic Diplomacy. Finally, the “Notes” section explores similarities between the thinking of the historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and the Chinese Secretary General and President, Xi Jinping. We hope that this volume will enrich the academic debate in the field of international relations.
