Manuscript Cover Letter Update, Política Internacional Journal
Dear authors of the Política Internacional Journal,
We are pleased to inform you of important updates to our Cover Letter requirements for all submitted manuscripts. This modification will take effect starting with submissions for Volume VII, Number 4, 2025 (October-December), and is a further step in our ongoing commitment to improving scientific quality and adopting international editorial best practices.
The purpose of these additions is to strengthen the transparency, ethics and reproducibility of the research we publish. The new sections included in the Cover letter are:
- Research Ethics Statement:
- If your study involves human participants, sensitive data (e.g., medical, personal), animals, or any research requiring ethical approval (e.g., surveys, interviews, experiments), it will be essential to confirm that the study was approved by a competent ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB). You must provide the full name of the committee/IRB and the approval or reference number (if applicable).
- In case your study does not involve any of these elements, you should explicitly state "Not applicable". This statement is vital to ensure integrity and accountability in research.
- Data Availability Statement:
- To promote transparency and reproducibility, we ask you to indicate whether and where the data supporting the findings of your manuscript are available. This includes raw data, processed data, code, software, or materials.
- They should choose one of the following options and describe the situation:
- "The data are available in a public repository (specify repository name and URL/DOI)."
- "The data is not publicly available due to [specify reason, e.g., privacy restrictions, sensitivity, proprietary data, etc.]."
- "Not applicable, as this is a theoretical study/ literature review/other (specify)."
Information provided by authors regarding these two topics in the cover letter will be included at the end of published articles.
These new sections seek to ensure that the research published in our journal meets the highest standards of ethical rigor and transparency.
