Implementation of APA Style, seventh edition

The American Psychological Association (APA) announced the publication of the seventh edition of the Publication Manual in October 2019. The APA style serves as a reference for the elaboration and submission of contributions to the journal Política Internacional. In this sense, starting with No. 4 of 2023, the journal Política Internacional will begin to implement this bibliographic style.

It is important for the authors to know that, among the most important changes included in this version, with respect to the sixth edition, are the following:

• The geographical location of the publisher is no longer required;
• The DOI tag for scientific journal articles is not used, they are now shown as a doi.org URL;
• It is not necessary to add "Retrieved from" from websites, unless a retrieval date is needed, only the URL is added at the end;
• The number of authors in a reference has changed, up to 20 should be included before omitting names;
• All in-text citations with three or more authors are shortened to the first author's last name plus the Latin phrase "et al" (and others).
